Model Significance
The Basso Ascot stands as one of the most exclusive and technologically advanced steel road racing platforms produced by the premium Italian manufacturer for the 1990 model year. The chassis is engineered from the legendary COLUMBUS MS (Multi-Shape) steel tube collection, custom-developed in collaboration with Gilco Design. Breaking away from traditional round profiles, every individual tube features a specific cross-sectional geometry analytically optimized to counter localized mechanical stresses—showcasing a triangular top tube, a teardrop downtube, and asymmetric chainstays. This engineering delivers remarkable torsional stiffness and a highly responsive ride quality for elite-tier custom builds.
Decal Set Features
The visual package accurately reproduces the definitive 1990 Italian factory graphics, scaled precisely to align with the unique surfaces of the Multi-Shape tubing. The structural core of the kit consists of the prominent, classic serif-typography BASSO brand markings detailed with a distinct black outline for the main frame tubes. The comprehensive transfer package incorporates the low-profile ascot top tube model scripts paired with geometric triangle outlines, the oval-shaped MADE IN ITALY country-of-origin badge, alongside the shield-shaped CICLI BASSO head tube crest overlaid with official World Championship rainbow bands. The collection is completed by the highly detailed, authentic COLUMBUS Tubi Profilati Rinforzati - Gilco MS Design technical frame specification transfer. Beside the authentic factory base template, the transfer kit is available in multiple custom color configurations to match specific build requirements.
