The 1998 Cannondale Super V 1000 FR (Freeride) stands as one of the most robust full-suspension mountain bikes of its era, distinguished by its 120 mm of rear wheel travel and heavy-duty construction. The frameset is built on oversized aluminum tubing designed to provide maximum stiffness for the emerging freeride scene. A central technical feature is the HeadShok Moto FR fork, which utilizes four sets of needle bearings in each leg to eliminate stiction and prevent the inner tubes from twisting within the outer tubes. This unique design delivers rock-solid handling and crisp, precise steering that conventional telescoping forks of the time could not match.
