Model Significance

In 1996, the Gary Fisher Procaliber was the sibling to the Procaliber LTD, offering nearly identical technology. While the LTD was equipped with top-tier components, the standard Procaliber brought the advantages of the OCLV carbon frame to a broader range of riders. Hand-built in Waterloo, Wisconsin, the frame utilized the legendary OCLV (Optimum Compaction Low Void) carbon technology. What set this Fisher model apart was the implementation of the Genesis Geometry. By featuring a longer top tube paired with a shorter stem, it offered a revolutionary weight distribution that improved climbing traction and high-speed stability. The Procaliber was a dominant force on the 90s XC circuit, favored by racers who demanded the ultimate stiffness of a carbon hardtail without sacrificing nimble, progressive handling.
