Model Significance

The 1990 Gary Fisher Sphinx was a pioneer of the hybrid/cross category, marketed by Gary Fisher as the ultimate "All-Road" machine. Hand-built in the USA using premium True Temper quad-butted SuperSize chromoly steel tubing, it offered a level of frame stiffness and durability rarely seen in non-MTB models of the era.
