Model Significance

The 1997 Hawk Hill features a frameset constructed from Tange-manufactured, custom triple-butted chromoly steel tubing. This high-end tubing process varies the wall thickness in three different stages along the tube, providing extra strength at the joints while thinning the mid-sections to reduce overall weight without sacrificing the material's natural vibration-damping qualities. As one of the final iterations of Marin's classic steel geometry, it combined legendary durability with technical precision, further enhanced by the inclusion of the RST 161B fork.
